We were going to start this reply by saying the TFTD Life Coach was too warm to answer any questions today, after an LOL or two we decided to play it straight.

Your question is important for many reasons, for the sake of time we will only deal with a few of them.

Extreme heat and mood dips are like a pair of boots and shoelaces. They go together when the boots have eyelets. As the mercury rises, our ability to deal with small problems becomes taxed. Little jobs like starting a lawnmower or digging a trench become impossible.

It is important to accept the heat as a member of the family. Fighting nature never leads to anything good, just think about the movie Jurassic Park, that went horribly wrong.

In review, accept the heat as part of the family and go see Jurassic Park, the inside of the theatre is bound to be chilly.

Moments ago, the fax machine in our air conditioned office sang the sweet song of crisis. No, we aren't pleased someone is in crisis, but we are pleased we can offer guidance.

As mentioned above, the message came in to the office via our fax machine. We just had it repaired. A friend of a friend wrote in requesting strategies for accepting a 40th birthday. The friend was clear in requesting strategies for a woman turning 40, but at TFTD, we don't make a habit of practicing sexism. We will offer a more generic outline of options:

Thanks for writing in BTMakar. I imagine many readers struggle with the same balance, or lack of balance you so eloquently described. TFTD would like to offer the following exercise. The exercise should be done at least three times a day, for a week or more.

Find a comfortable chair, sit, with eyes closed, don't squeeze the eyelids too tight as this could cause the head to ache. After some level of comfort is reached (Some people take off their shoes or change into short track shorts)Try and think of pleasant things like, eating ice cream or watching a parade. This process should lead you to a place where clear thinking is easier.
