Remember that every person has different needs, health conditions, drug tolerance, etc., which all may need to be weighed before a drug can be prescribed. Different Treatments Available for Erectile Dysfunction

November 11th, 2013 — 7:35am

One of the worst things that could ever happen to a man is to have a condition called erectile dysfunction (ED).  This condition is basically the inability to achieve an erection wherein a man is no longer capable of sexual intercourse due to the fact that limp penis cannot do vaginal penetration.  If you are sexually active and suddenly suffer from this condition, it is nearly like saying goodbye to the pleasures brought about by sex.  Fortunately, we no longer live in an era where all you can do is to accept the fate that you have been given.  These days, there are plenty of treatments for erectile dysfunction and they are more or less effective in providing you the rigidness needed for a successful sexual intercourse.

ED Medication – These is probably the most effective way to achieve an erection.  These medications, classified as PDE5 inhibitor drugs, works by providing you a natural form of erection.  Since an erection is basically the compression of blood inside a cavity, PDE5 inhibitor drugs also do the same action.  The active ingredient within the drug instructs the muscles that lines the penis to loosen up so blood can be pumped inside the corpus cavernosum, a cavity within the penis that when engorged with blood makes the penis erect.  There are different medications that belong to this class – vardenafil, tadalafil, sildenafil, and avanafil.  All these drugs, despite having different active ingredients, provide the same action in helping men with ED get an erection. November 11th, 2013 — 7:25am

To suffer from male pattern baldness means to endure the hassle of cleaning up fallen hair on your comb or bathroom drain, or endure the hassle of daily maintenance to prevent the progression of hair loss.  There are actually a lot of products that claim to treat hair loss, but in truth, these medications are more like hair growing formulas but do nothing in treating the actual condition of male pattern baldness.

The only true medication that has been approved by the FDA for treating hair loss is Propecia.  The problem with Propecia is that it is very expensive, particularly since it is a daily medication that needs to be taken as long as you want to stop the progression of hair loss.  Fortunately, there are generic medications that are made from the same ingredients that the branded medication has, but for a fraction of the price.  If you are interested in stopping your hair loss but do not have the funds for it, then you may want to consider finasteride generic.  This is actually the generic form of Propecia which means it is as equally effective as its branded counterpart.

There have been many arguments on whether generic medications are effective.  In essence, since they basically use the same ingredients, they should be, at most, equal in effect.  However, since some generic manufacturers use substandard ingredients, some generic medications have been known to be ineffective.  While this concept may be true with other medications, it does not necessarily mean that finasteride generic is not effective.  Continue reading »
